Pictures of the Kenan Field House Weight Room

Here are some of the pictures from inside the Kenan Weight Room. What are the differences between the weight room that all the other athletic teams use compared to the weight room that the Football team uses. Is the equipment nicer? Is there a better flow and set-up?

Pictures from Meeting on Friday, September 21, 2007:

This is the lounge of Kenan Weight Room where most of the athletic teams (excluding teams like basketball and football who have their own weight rooms) come to workout and train for their sports. Look at the difference between this lounge and the lounge where the Football team trains. This one does not seem as condusive to relaxation.

Things to keep in mind while researching

What kind of equipment is there?
What kind of support is there? –nutritionists, trainers, rehab
è Cost
When is it available (open)?

How do people interact within the space?
- Strangers vs. teammates
- Waiting lists vs. open access

Placement of spaces relative to places of team ownership (Kenan Weight Room at Kenan Stadium, SRC near Woolen and Fetzer Gyms, Belk Track, Pool, and Intramural Fields)

Symbolic aspects of space—weight room looks nice
- SRC is more compact and supplies are limited
- Symbols and signs of Carolina unity and motivationàhall of fame stuff on walls
